Shanna & Jason

bride's dress blows in wind as groom kisses her at October Oaks weddingI absolutley adore these two. Ever since I met Jason & Shanna over 2 years ago I have been looking forward to photographing their October Oaks  wedding. 2 pandemic-forced reschedules and a super sweet beach elopement later here they are, finally getting to celebrate their marriage with family and friends. It was everything we all hoped it would be!

Jason placed a boquet on his late mother’s chair to “save her a spot” on the front row of their wedding day. But it sounds like she was already enjoying her view with wings. ♥ He said:

I didn’t see any dragon flies when I got on to October Oaks property until we opened the doors to start walking down the aisle. There were three as soon as we opened the doors to start our walk! ** Dragonflies are symbolic of Mom Holmberg

Shanna and Jason’s advice for future couples planning their wedding…

Its hard but – GO WITH THE FLOW on your wedding day. Yes you planned everything out to a “T” because it’s YOUR day, but sticking to what you planned can ruin the “live in the moment” feel. Shit happens. why be all caught up in timelines unless it’s for dinner! Enjoy it all – they say it goes by so fast and man they aren’t kidding – it’s your party so make sure you get to enjoy it. Have a last private dance – where the two of you can just reflect on the night and enjoy one last song.

We are always a huge fan of the private last dance! It gives the couple a chance to soak up all of the magic from their big day one last time before they are sent out into the world.

Congratulations to Shanna & Jason! It’s been such an honor to capture every step of your wedding journey. You both took all of the rescheduling and changes in stride and it’s an inspiration to us! Cheers to the Holmbergs!

Wedding Vendor Love

(Jason and Shanna are the sweetest and wrote kind things about their vendors that we just had to share!)

Venue: October Oaks

Ann, Chef Micheal, Andrew driving our nieces and nephews around, and just all the staff. So friendly. It’s like being at home.

Coordinator: Lora Wardman

hands down way worth EVERY penny. Could not have done any of this without them. planning the same wedding multiple times and coordinating everyone together – PROFESSIONAL! ((bow down to Lora and team))

Hair & Makeup: Faces by Shannon

The coolest woman! So real and genuinely just wants her clients to be happy. Let me do a second hair trial because I decided after the first trial that it just wasn’t me and wanted to use my natural curls.

Cake: Sweets by Andre

The cupcakes and Desserts were out of this world! so delicious and we got to have our dogs that mean the world to us included through the cake!!!

Gelato: Sweet City Gelato

So deeeelicious! And who has a freaking gelato cart at their wedding?!? Oh we do!!!

Photography:

If you don’t use Sierra and her team to capture your day you will regret it! What 7 month pregnant woman do you know will actively get on the ground to get better natural lighting? HELLO -SIERRA!!!!!!! She will go lengths to get that perfect shot! This is the second time using her and there WILL be many more!!! She makes you feel so comfortable and gets the true smiles and captures the moment! She is so personable and sweet! (Geesh way to make a girl blush, thank you guys for these sweet words!)

Catering: Cuisine by Michael
