Holly and Justin planned a gorgeous rustic themed day for their Bellemoor Plantation wedding. Complete with market lights and chandeliers hanging from every tree, the setting could not have been more picturesque.
Still, it wouldn’t be a wedding without a little-added excitement. On this day, a massive storm was brewing, keeping us all on our toes. It held off just long enough for an exchange of vows under the 200 year old oak tree. And then, as we finished up family photos, the rain came down hard and we all made a run for the tent!
Because Holly & Justin opted for a first look we were able to do most of their portraits before the ceremony! We like to embrace the rain when it happens, Holly and Justin were totally down for that! Holly said,
“The rain was unexpected but turned out to be a great addition for pictures. We were able to have the ceremony where we preferred and ended up taking pictures with the clear umbrella that were amazing.
We couldn’t agree more, Holly! Plus we hear rain on your wedding day is very good luck! ;)
Just like a lot of our couples do, Holly and Justin went back and forth as to whether or not to do a first look. They decided to go for it and we were so happy they did! Turns out, so were they! They both said the first look was their favorite part of the day.
Justin said,
The first look was my favorite part of the day. It felt like a nice and special moment, just for us.
Holly said,
Definitely the first look. I went back and forth on whether we should do it or not, but I am so happy we did. It really was perfect that it was just us, with the photographers hiding in the trees of course. It was refreshing to have that time to just ourselves and have a few moments to relax and soak in what the day was truly about.
You know you’ve picked the perfect venue when they just happen to have a teal Bel Air that matches your color scheme for the day!
There were so many happy tears, all around.
We need to just stop and take a moment to appreciate the incredible staff at this Bellemoor Plantation wedding. Plantation Park Events is made up of a phenomenal team who seem to have a plan for just about everything. First of all, they have a white tent all set up at the venue so you don’t have to rent one in addition to renting the venue (savin’ them dollahhh bills). Second of all, the staff paid such close attention to the storm’s path that they had all of us heading for cover RIGHT before the skies opened up. They were always ready with a golf cart or an umbrella or anything else you could think of. We love an amazing venue super committed to their couples!
Thank you, clear umbrella for coming to our rescue for adorable rainy portraits! How could we resist this spot even if it was raining?!
Holly’s advice for brides planning their weddings now is…
Lists will be your best friend! Make a list of everything you need to do and when you want to have it completed. I also made a daily list for the week before the wedding to make sure everything was done. It helped keep me organized and not overwhelmed by trying to do everything in one day. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help from bridesmaids/family/friends.
Definitely don’t be afraid to ask for help! Your wedding day is one for you to just sit back and enjoy. Holly and Justin did an amazing job soaking in their Bellemoor Plantation wedding. They spent the whole day laughing, happy crying, and dancing with their friends and family and we were so lucky to get to capture it.
