Julie & Clayton’s Wildwood wedding was inspired by their love for each other and for the Florida Gators. These two (and just about every guest in attendance) were HUGE Gators fans and so it only seemed fitting to incorporate it into their big day. They used the classic Gator’s orange and blue color scheme and used it as inspiration for their fall wedding. Julie’s sister and Matron of Honor, Maria, even designed gorgeous orange bouquets for her and her bridesmaids!
One alternative to a first look that we always love is a first touch. Julie and Clayton enjoyed a very emotional moment together before their Wildwood wedding ceremony without Clayton getting to see his bride. Clayton prayed over them. It was a beautiful moment and one that stood out for Clayton. He said,
I felt such a close connection with the two of us and God. This moment meant so much to me because I felt him truly blessing our marriage to one another.
There was no sea of cell phones during this ceremony!
Julie’s favorite moment of the day…
Walking down the aisle with my dad by my side, looking at the man that I was about to spend the rest of my life with, with tears in his eyes. In that moment, it felt like time stood still and there was nothing going through my mind because I was so focused on him.
Moments with grandma melt our hearts.
GATOR CHOMP!
Who doesn’t love a dress with pockets?! We had to make sure we showed them off!
Clayton and I are high school sweethearts and while we have had multiple songs along the way, “Amazed” by Lonestar was one from the beginning of our relationship. Clayton used to sing this song to me all the time. While his singing voice may not be the best, it was always very sweet and hearing him sing it again during our dance made it that much more special.
This was a first for us… In order for a table to be called to eat dinner, you had to be the first to guess the song DJ Seth Rowe was playing. Seth would play a song and whoever could run to his table first and correctly name the song could have their table get in line. Apparently this was all Julie’s bright idea and you could tell she enjoyed it a liiiiiiittle too much! :P
Julie has some excellent advice for brides planning their weddings now…
Don’t stress that the day won’t go as planned. If small details are forgotten, you are the only one that will notice. Enjoy the day that you spent so much time planning and take time to stop and take mental pictures because the day will fly by. Just remember that at the end of the day, you will have married the love of your life and that’s all that truly matters.
We couldn’t agree more! Julie and Clayton are clearly made for each other. The love and support that surrounded them at their Wildwood wedding was undeniable. Congratulations to you, Mr. & Mrs. McDaniel! We couldn’t be happier for you and…Go Gators?!
