Emily and Chris said “I do” on a rainy summer afternoon at their Florida barn wedding in DeLand. Bridle Oaks Barn provided the perfect backdrop for their big day. They wanted a romantic feel for their wedding day surrounded by little details totally personal to them, and boy, did they succeed! They used their love for the state of Georgia as one of their inspirations. Their guest board was shaped like the state, they made magnolia place cards, and because of their love for golf, their table names were named after Augusta National Golf Club holes. How cute is that?! Emily & Chris handled the rain like champs and played in the rain for photos. After their beautiful indoor ceremony, Mother Nature even decided to let up so Emily, Chris, and their guests could enjoy s’mores and lawn games outside for the rest of the evening!
Emily & Chris made nearly all of their planning decisions together for their Florida barn wedding! The only aspects they chose solo were Emily’s stunning Sottero & Midgley bridal gown, their vows, and their gifts for each other. We ♥ teamwork! We also love what they had to say about their vendors…
We were not very specific with our vendors and allowed them to really shine by only giving them some insight into what we liked and they took their expertise and made everything even more special.
One of the things we tell our couples to pay attention to when planning their wedding is their venue’s rain plan. Since it was drizzling outside, the Bridle Oaks Barn team quickly transitioned the ceremony to the beautiful barn!
Chris’ favorite moments:
Exchanging gifts, seeing Emily walk down the aisle, dinner
Emily’s favorite moments:
Having my sister do our makeup, having the rain hold off enough for pictures and outdoor activities, seeing Chris so happy
Dinner was definitely delicious! Mission BBQ is Chris and Emily’s absolute favorite BBQ around. Chris said during his welcome speech that they go 1-2 times a week to get their fix and they were nice enough to share it with their friends and family!
Chris and Emily have the best advice for couples out there planning their big day.
The wedding only last for a few hours, your marriage will hopefully last a lifetime. Remember to spend more time developing your relationship and not trying to perfect small details for one day.
We couldn’t agree more! Emily and Chris share such a clear love for each other and we were so honored to play a small part in their wedding day. We can’t wait to see where life takes them and hear the stories from the Augusta National back nine!
