Lakeside Inn Wedding | Julia & Laurence | Mount Dora Wedding Photographer

Since Julia & Laurence’s big day I have been thinking about writing this blog. Their Lakeside Inn wedding was so eloquent and heart-felt that I knew words probably wouldn’t do it justice. I don’t think photographers are supposed to say this, but I am not sure even pictures could do these two justice. Hearing their story and watching their day unfold was like watching a Nicholas Sparks book come to life.

Laurence is from Forres, Scotland. A foreign exchange program (and fate) brought him to Mount Dora, Florida where he met Julia. When he returned home they kept in touch through letters…for seven years! When they couldn’t stand to be apart any longer Laurence flew to the states to proposed to Julia. With the help of their families they planned their entire wedding in the 3 months of Laurence’s fiancé visa. The day was truly a beautiful celebration of their love.

Julia and Laurence opted for a first look. They were SO excited to see each other that Julia ran to Laurence, I’m telling you these two are just the sweetest. This was one of Laurence’s favorite parts of the day. In his words:

“Having the time and space to take photos where it was just Julia and I actually became so important because the amount of family photos would have made the hour after the ceremony so stressful!”

Julia radiated joy the whole day and Laurence rarely took his eyes off of her.

Julia and Laurence let the majestic Oak trees and lake set the stage for their ceremony. “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”

Their families traveled near and far so Julia and Laurence wanted a group shot of everyone! Julia’s Dad brought a ladder and I climbed on up and got this seconds after they became husband and wife!

Julia’a sorority sisters did a traditional dance and song for them!

My personal favorite moment of the day was the traditional Scottish dance that the bridal party did to the Coldplay song, Adventure of a Lifetime. If we’re Snapchat friends you may have seen 10 seconds of that goodness, if we’re not, you missed out ;)

At the very end of the night the DJ cleared the room and Julia and Laurence shared an intimate last dance. Love this shot Sara got of that.

The fact that there were nearly 150 guests at this wedding who came from all over the world is a direct reflection of the kind of people Julia and Laurence are. People are just drawn to them. Words will never express how happy we were to capture the love they share.
